Vocal Audition Materials

Hello prospective TCHA choral participants!

Thank you for your excitement and interest in joining our choirs this year! We are asking ALL STUDENTS GRADES 7-12 to complete an audition form and submit the requested audition material (detailed below) to help the directors in both admittance * and vocal placement in the choirs and ensembles.

While not a hard deadline, please try to submit audition materials by August 16 to allow time for ordering music before classes begin.

*Gloria Voce will be accepting ALL registrations, while Divino Voce and the Select Ensembles will have audition based admittance.

For each of the following elements, please submit a video (not audio) recording so we can begin connecting names, faces and voices. Thank you!

Pt 1: Vocal Control and Pitch

Required for ALL students grades 7-12

Please share a link to a video of you singing verse 1 of Joy to the World a cappella, in a key of your choosing.

Lyrics and notes

Pt 2: Vocal Range

Required for ALL students grades 7-12

Please share a link to a video of you singing along to the relevant recording below.

Pt 3: Sight Reading & Resonance – Melody

Required ONLY for students auditioning for Divino Voce and select ensembles (not required for those interested only in Gloria Voce)

Please share a link to a video of you singing the following melody along to the accompaniment provided. (Sing on Doh or Dah – no lyrics)
