Inspired by Dramatist Ken Lee, Wayne began writing and performing Biblical monologues in 1992. Inspired by Dramatist Ken Lee, Wayne began writing and performing Biblical monologues in 1992. Wayne received his BA in Theatre from North Central University and an MA in Theatre from Southern Oregon University. In addition to performing one man plays for organizations and churches, Wayne has appeared in community theatre productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, My Fair Lady, 1776, and The Gospel According to Scrooge. Wayne has directed adult and children’s plays and musicals for over thirty years. In January of 2005 Wayne and Peggy, his bride for 45 years, launched the performing arts ministry of ‘Second Story Productions’.
Since then, Wayne has served as a theatre professor at North Central University for 15 years, taught K-12 Drama for H.E.R.O. Home School Co-op, C.H.A.T. Home School Co-op, 8th grade drama at Heritage Christian Academy, served as drama director/coach for Southwest Christian High School, taught community education drama classes, conducted various drama workshops and camps, directed large cast Easter Passion musicals in Minnesota and Utah, and has directed over 50 youth productions including such classics as The Secret Garden, Willy Wonka, Our Town, Robin Hood, Into The Woods, The Prince and the Pauper, Tom Sawyer, Robin Hood, Peter Pan, The Wizard of OZ, Anne of Green Gables, Harvey, Jane Eyre, Little Women, Les Miserables, and Don Quioxte.
Wayne is currently the Theatre Teacher and Director at Maranatha Christian Academy in Brooklyn Park MN. He also writes and performs Biblical monologues and sketches in churches cross-denominationally.
Most recently, Wayne appeared in a regional Blue Cross Blue Shield commercial and a national Cheerio’s Television ad.
Wayne maintains a strong belief in the ability of theatre to help people see truth, find new perspective, think deeply about themselves and the world around them and Biblical truth.
